LQMT nerd out notes
👉 TODAY: Jeff Bishop & his special guest unveil the power of a NEW AI Trade-Timing Indicator. Live in Market Masters @1pm EST.
Good morning,
GTEC net income surged to $15.15M sending the stock price up over 70% Wednesday night. I’ve started a position here at $2.24 to see if this low float will attach the $2.80’s resistance on a multi-day breakout. I’m a buyer in the low $2’s, stop loss below $1.90’s and if I add, adjusted target of $2.50’s.
I’m getting a lot of questions about the LQMT news, and rightfully so, this is huge news and I know you’re excited too. For anyone new, I’ve been in a big position (over $1M) of this stock for years and because I adjust my core position a lot, I buy and sell without notice. I am currently holding well over 10M shares. I don’t have a target for an exit so please don’t ask in the chat room. This isn’t personal, I simply have no clue how this ends. But I do believe I’m right, have maintained that the entire time, and now it’s looking like I was right all along. When Apple initially invested in LQMT shares shot up just shy of $2. Could it go there again, I believe it could. Will it, who the hell knows. Like we saw this week, one headline shot the stock up over 200%. I’ve long said I’m trying to remain patient and get the big payday. What is a big payday is subjective. The CEO’s stock options are tied to $1 share price or up-listing to the Nasdaq. I think this update from Ming-Chi Kuo could be the driver. Am I personally waiting around for $1 on my core position, I don’t know, I tend to trim and trail all of my trades since nobody can pick a top. I’ve been holding over a million dollars in stock here for years waiting for something big from Apple, so we will just have to see how it plays out. As with all trading, I’m excited that you are excited about this. I know many of you have been long-term in LQMT too — score one for the good guys.
Here are the facts.
Apple invested $20M in LQMT a while back. The stock shot up just shy of $2. Since then there’s been no wide scale use of the technology. I’ve long said it’s coming. I never second guessed myself, I just sat on a big core position for years, adjusting it as necessary. More recently, EonTec invested about $60M in LQMT. This was huge news because they have the capacity to produce the hinges at scale. Here’s a good article from 2017 explaining why EonTec invested so much money in LQMT.
Then Friday the news finally hit. Top Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo dropped a bomb:

Based on my research this looks very likely so I expect the story to build. Macworld picked up on the story fast and this feels less like a stock move and more like a biotech moonshot into an FDA decision. Except here, the 'approval' is Apple’s product launch. The hype is real, and it’s only getting started. I am long LQMT stock.
